Strawberry quartz is a trade name used to describe a variety of red crystals. There are calcites, obsidians, chalcedonies, even types of glass that all go under the name ‘Strawberry Quartz.’

The original strawberry quartz was first named Scarlet Quartz and came of out England in the 19th century. However, with the boom in the crystal industry and the variety of crystals on the market all under the same name, there seems to be more misinformation than accurate.

The truth is: there is no strawberry quartz. What’s true for a calcite will be false for a chalcedony and they will both have the same name.

This particular crystal is a form of quartz and gets its claim to the name for its inclusions. Iron Oxide is responsible for the pigment, while Goethide adds a bit of sparkle and gives the stone a seed-like appearance.

Metaphysically, it’s similar to Rose Quartz. It promotes love and compassion and increases feelings of security and romance.

The crystal you receive may not be the one in the picture. To select your own crystal, please join the Witch’s Cabinet Live Sales group on Facebook.

You will receive one crystal tower weighing approximately 80g-110g and 3”-4” tall

Ethically sourced from Uruachi Mexico
